Jean-Charles Blais (b. 1956) is a contemporary artist known for his expressive figurative paintings and innovative use of materials. He gained recognition in the 1980s for his works on repurposed billboard posters, creating layered, textured compositions that explore themes of transformation and the human form. His art has been exhibited in major institutions such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Blais currently lives and works between Paris and Vence in the South of France.
